Rob Elo (or by his given name Rob Wilkinson) began studying piano at the age of six, and since then has been heavily involved in music of all genres. He has done several years of study with the Royal Conservatory of Music, and has prepared many students through RCM exams (all students have received honours marks or higher). He completed his Diploma in Jazz studies at VIU in 2013, studying under acclaimed pianists Bill Costin and Bob Wilson, and winning the George and Daisy Fraser Music award.
Rob has performed and recorded with many groups, including Hard Times (jazz), Pocket Change (rnb/soul), The Body Politic (progressive metal), Lovecoast (pop), and Band of Rascals (rock). In addition to the hours of practice and performance time on the piano, Rob plays the guitar, sings, and writes and records his own music.
